"The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I hope in Him!"
                                                                                               Lamentations 3:24

My formal name is Nancy, but everyone calls me Nan.  My husband, David and I have been married for 28 years.  I count him as a special treasure among the many blessings of heaven in my life.  We have three adult children:  David, Jr. , Matt and Nancy Marie .  We also have one grandchild:  Jamison.  When we were waiting for Jamison’s arrival, grandparents everywhere shared that there was NOTHING like a grandchild.  The first moment I held that sweet baby boy in my arms I knew they were right!  I prayed, “Lord, there must be some way to explain the miracle of a grandchild.”  He immediately reminded me of the double portion of blessings His children received throughout His Word.  A grandchild is like a double portion!  All the joy, love, goose bumps we have for our child is doubled when we gaze into those sparkly little eyes of our grandbaby.  Oh-h-h…God is SO good!

My life journey really does weave in and out like a tapestry.  I met Jesus in 1972 – my senior year in high school.  I had never gone through outwardly rebellious activities, but I desperately needed an overhaul from the inside out.  I had no self-esteem or self-confidence.  I was PAINFULLY shy.  My first steps of obedience to God as a new Christian were simple things like making eye contact with a stranger and then actually smiling at them!  I’m serious!  That was so hard for me, but, that’s where my Jesus met me and helped me and changed me.  He knew that I wanted to be all that I could be for Him and for His glory.  And now I am affectionately known as the crazy woman (or as the kids say, Miss Cwazy).  I have definitely come out of my shell!  Why?  Because I have experienced the transforming power of Almighty God!

I love being a pastor’s wife.  David and I have ministered together for 28 years – officially as pastor and wife since 1992.  We are currently living in Western NC. God has called us to “reach and restore broken lives through the power of His presence”.

Ministry is an amazing gift from God.  David and I have the privilege of sharing in a person’s most joyful moments and the honor of holding them as they pass through their darkest days.  We experience God’s presence as we trudge through the trenches for the sake of righteousness and stand in awe of Him while on the mountaintops.  Seeing a life restored makes all the difficult days worthwhile.  Sometimes I wonder why God chose David and me - two simple-minded, imperfect people - but always, I stand humbled and grateful that He found us worthy.
